PanAfrican Revolutionaries Zine

"Why am I as I am? To understand that of any person, his whole life, from
Birth must be reviewed. All of our experiences fuse into our personality. Everything that ever happened to us is an ingredient."
โel Haj Malik el Shabazz (Malcolm XI, The Autobiography of Malcolm X
This zine is a project of love. Each digital painting, page and quote is rendered and selected with a heart full of warmth and gratitude to the ancestors of our anti-capitalist revolution. my goal is to enter the worlds of these Pan-African revolutionaries and bring their youthful words of wisdom into our hearts today.
This zine features quotes from each revolutionary so that you may be able to experience them on their own terms, in their own words. While nothing can replace the act of reading their works themselves, it is my hope that this zine can operate as a sort of curated exhibition. My hope is to counter the typical media portrayal of Black revolutionaries. With my portraits, I aspire to feature each individual as human and divine. My experience of politics cannot be severed from my spiritual experience of life. My artwork hopes to marry the two perspectives. Enjoy!
