I created this piece in 2024 out of bewilderment that people were praising the Israeli military for its crimes against Palestinians. It felt the same to me as people praising the United States for its wealth and “freedom”when they neglect to acknowledge this freedom never extended to its Black Brown and indigenous populations who had to deal with genocide, forced migration, Jim Crow, white supremacists groups like the KKK, and now mass incarceration, police brutality, and lack of health care/housing/ education/ food ect.

There’s always been two sides to the success of America and I see that same situation in Israel. Whatever joy Israelis experience is stained by the apartheid regime.
